Celebrate Litsemba
Posted by Mann Nolan
On July 23, 2010, an estimated 15,000 orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) will gather in the Somhlolo National Stadium in Swaziland for a day of celebration. Swaziland is a small country of ~950,000 people in Southern Africa. In this small country, they have the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the world at 46%. This AIDS pandemic has left left thousands orphaned and abandoned children in it’s wake. Current estimates indicate there are as many as 200,000 OVCs in Swaziland.
Our belief at Heart for Africa is that we must act. We must work to ensure the children are eating, that they have fresh water, everyday and with the church leaders of Swaziland.
